What is Acupressure?

Acupressure is a term that can include a variety of massage modalities that use "pressure points" or special points that have a more direct influence over the form and function of the body. Shiatsu, Tui Na, and Chi Nei Tsang are massage techniques that are based on the Chinese meridian system and have developed over thousands of years. Similar to acupuncture, instead of needles, thumbs, fingers, elbows, and more can be used to access the life-energy of each point. Thai Massage uses pressure points as well however its roots are more closely connected to India and the healing science of Ayurveda.
